I noticed a huge jump in traffic in my iPhone Applications website (www.ipapplist.com) the last few days.

So, I took a look at the stats and noticed something very strange.  Most of the traffic is coming from Japan.

What’s going on?  Is the iPhone out in Japan?  Where are they getting it from?  Why aren’t Americans using my site as much? :)

I am going to Japan in 2 weeks and own an I phone. I know that the phone will not work. The wifi should. There shoud be no cost to me because my phone will never register in a 3G or 4G phone base. My settings also will not alow it to roam for data. Seems that Japan could use the Ipod touch for their hotspots. They can pay for the wifi as well according to what I have seen. My phone will be used n media centers and the like.

ATT advised of an international data plan. That would apply to a place where the phone could connect. The iphone in Japan today is no greater than a laptop or itouch. It is a portable internet adding cemera, media etc.
